New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), along with the Music Educators' National Conference (MENC) is celebrating March as Music in Schools Month. As part of this celebration, area schools are giving special performances at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. Local schools that are performing this month include: Fonda-Fultonville High School Select Chorus, Northville Central School Senior High Band, Van Antwerp Middle School Chamber Strings, and the Dorothy Nolan Elementary School Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus. On March 11th, State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) enjoyed the performance by the Northville Central School Senior High School Band, under the direction of Jennifer Henzler, at the Empire State Plaza. NYSSMA Chairperson Alexander Boschi joined the Senator for the performance that was part of the Music in the Schools Month celebration.
