Statement from Senator Gianaris on the Passing of Geraldine Ferraro

Geraldine Ferraro was a true pioneer for our nation, for our state and for my neighborhood. First as western Queens' representative in Washington and then as a national icon, her courage paved the way for so many of today’s leaders.

Geraldine Ferraro dedicated her life to serving her community. Her life reflected the hard work and family values that define Queens, and her belief in herself and the ability of women to contribute to society at the highest levels served as the best kind of example for younger generations.
