Housing Works vistited Senator Huntley to discuss S. 2873: The Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GEND) sponsored by Senator Duane. This bill is the first step to ending the legal discrimination and social barriers faced by transgender people.

GENDA will:

• Ensure equality in education, housing, healthcare and employment regardless of gender expression or identity
• Enhance safety for all transgender people, especially the poor and homeless at high risk of getting HIV
• Promote culturally competent medical care and delivery
