March 2, 2012

At the December Town Board meeting for the Town of Freedom, Senator Catharine Young presented an official state Senate Resolution that commemorates the 200th Anniversary of the Town to Town Supervisor Barbara George. Although not officially recognized as a Town until 1820 by decree of the State Legislature, the first residents of Freedom came in December of 1811. The Town held a Bicentennial Celebration back in August that included opening of a time capsule, a parade, and fireworks.
