At the Center Street School in the Herricks School District, Senator Jack M. Martins spoke to the members of the Girl Scout Troop 1501 as part of their requirement for their government badge. Senator Martins hosted a lively an interactive discussion during which the girls gave their ideas for new laws. The girls also asked Senator Martins questions about his job and about how he became a Senator.

"It was an honor to speak to the troop. They were a great group that is part of a great organization. I commend their parents and troop leaders," Senator Martins said.
