First Day of School
Joseph E. Robach
September 5, 2012
Today, many of our students across the area started the 2012-2013 school year. I had the privilege to join the students, faculty, and staff at Flower City School #54 in the city for their first day of school! Students had the opportunity to meet City of Rochester School District Superintendent Bolgen Vargas and take part in activities on The Green Machine. The Green Machine is a solar powered research vehicle, designed by Monroe #1 BOCES Technology Service. It is an interactive mobile science labratory that provides state-of-the-art technology in a curriculum-rich environment. It includes five workstations (CSI, Ecology, Geography, Zoology, and Medical), which students are assigned to work together in a specified scenario to solve a mystery. Best wises to all of our students for a successful 2012-2013 school year!
