“I’m disappointed New York’s request to suspend the expansion of the Secure Communities program was ignored. This program threatens any hope of developing new inroads among law enforcement and our immigrant communities of New York. Furthermore, any progress toward a working relationship between the two will surely suffer once this program is implemented.”
