Oswego High’s Drake Becksted Honored with a Formal Resolution

Senator Patty Ritchie recently honored Oswego High scholar-athlete Drake Becksted with a formal resolution in the Senate Chamber in Albany.

During his four years in high school, Drake earned the rank of scholar-athlete, and also served as team co-captain and five year Most Valuable Player on the Varsity Swimming and Diving Team.

Drake is also the recipient of numerous scholastic and  musical  achievements,  including  Central New York, Scholastic Art Competition Silver Key Award for Design, the Oneida Jazz Fest Gold Award Jazz Band "A" Class AAA,  Best  Trombone  Section  Jazz  Band  "A,"  and achievement as an academic top 25 of his senior class.

Drake will further his education at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he has already earned a place on the university's swim team.
