Hailing City Legislation Increasing Penalties for Illegal Hotel Operators

On September 12, I joined the New York City Council Speaker, several members of the City Council and many other elected officials, advocates and industry representatives in hailing the passage of legislation that provides higher fines to support the stricter transient occupancy unit (“illegal hotel”) law passed by the State Legislature in 2010.
