Ground has been broken for an expanded emergency department at the Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
The existing space is over 40 years old and only 3,000 square feet. Once the new emergency department is complete, it will be 10,000 square feet, more than three times the size of the current building. It also will improve the privacy and comfort of patients and the working conditions for the staff.
The state has provided a $4.69 million HEAL grant towards the projects, which covers about 64 percent of the cost. Community pillars E. Phillip and Carole Saunders have donated $750,000 as a leadership gift, and they are hoping that members of the community also support the new emergency room
Congratulations.
