Statement from Senator Eric Adams on the passing of Rep. Major Owens
Eric Adams
October 22, 2013
Senator Adams states: "Few people have positively affected the lives of Brooklynites as greatly as Rep. Major Owens. Throughout his long career of public service, Rep. Owens fought harder than anyone for our working families, and always with a first thought toward who needed his help – and our help – the most. All of Brooklyn owes him a debt of gratitude. Personally, I am grateful for his friendship and the high standard as a government representative he set for me and other officials. He will be missed—but his legacy will continue on as long as we in government follow his example, and always keep those in need in our hearts."
