Lockport WWII veteran Ed Kolek was named to the French Legion of Honor during a special ceremony at the B. Leo Dolan American Legion Post #410 on Thursday, November 21, 2013. The award was instituted by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802 to denote special service to France. Kolek piloted B-24 aircraft in 47 missions and contributed to the liberation of France.
