Court of Appeals Nominee, Sheila Abdus-Salaam Moves Through Judiciary Committee

Today Senator Dilan joined with his colleagues in the Senate Judiciary Committee to unanimously accept Governor Cuomo’s nomination of Supreme Court Justice Sheila Abdus-Salaam to fill a vacancy in the Court of Appeals.
Justice Abdus-Salaam is expected to come before the Senate for a full vote on Monday, May 6. Once confirmed, Justice Abdus-Salaam will be the first African-American woman to serve on the state’s highest court.
