Two West Webster Volunteer Firefighters, Michael “Chip” Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka, were honored Tuesday, October 8th as a part of the 16th Annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony in Albany. Michael Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka were murdered when they responded to a major house fire on Christmas Eve day in Webster, New York.
Senator Mike Nozzolio was joined at the ceremony by the families of Michael "Chip" Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka and members of the West Webster Fire Department. The annual Firefighters Memorial ceremony is held each year during Fire Prevention Week to honor and memorialize the courage and valor of our fallen firefighters. The names of nine new firefighters were added this year, bringing the total of fallen firefighters to over 2,380.
