On January 9, 2013, newly elected Terry Gipson was sworn in to be the New York State Senator from the 41st District. He is the first Democrat elected from the Senate district in Dutchess County in over 100 years. He was accompanied by his wife, Michelle Donner, and his parents, Jim and Lydia Gipson.
