Stavisky, Kim and Koo Kick Off First Korean Restaurant Week in Flushing

Flushing, NY—Senator Toby Ann Stavisky (D-Flushing,) Assemblymember Ron Kim (D-Flushing,) and Councilmember Peter Koo (D-Flushing) kicked off Flushing’s first Korean Restaurant Week by sampling Korean fare at Shinjung Galbi.

Ten Queens restaurants are participating in this year’s Restaurant Week, which runs from October 21 to November 3. Specials include prix fixe lunches and dinners, Korean barbecue specials and new signature dishes. For more information and a list of participating restaurants, visit http://www.koreanrestaurantweeknyc.com/.

“I’m glad Restaurant Week is finally coming to Queens. Our diversity means that our neighborhoods are full of world-class restaurants from all over the world. I hope people will take advantage of the Restaurant Week offers to explore all of the delicious Korean restaurants we have in Flushing and hopefully find their new favorite place to have dinner or lunch,” said Senator Toby Ann Stavisky (D-Flushing.)

"I am so proud to invite and encourage New Yorkers to come to Flushing and taste some of the amazing places that we have here in Flushing. Flushing is known for two obvious things. Our incredible diversity and our food!  We have the best food in the city right here in this community. People travel from all over the world to have a taste of Flushing, and this is a chance for people all over the city to take advantage of the different deals, prix fixe menus and packages that are available during Korean Restaurant Week," said Assemblymember Ron Kim (D-Flushing.)

“I am excited to partake in the first annual Korean Restaurant week. Expanding on the rising popularity of signature Korean foods and basking in the diversity of Flushing, this week will serve to celebrate and promote the Korean culture and the wonderful food of the Korean people. The food here at Shinjung Galbi is only a small sample of the greatness within this cuisine, and I am happy to know that the rest of New York City will get the chance to be introduced to this beautiful culture,” said Councilmember Peter Koo (D-Flushing.)
