Earlier this month I wrote to the Landmarks Preservation Commission’s (LPC) new Chair, Meenakshi Srinivasan, to encourage the designation of Phase III of the South Village Historic District (SVHD). This final portion of the SVHD and the historic buildings contained within it are exceptionally vulnerable given development pressure from all neighboring areas, which was only exacerbated by the 2013 rezoning of Hudson Square.
