Today, Robert Pinter signed a $450,000 settlement with the City of New York in a federal civil rights lawsuit stemming from his October 10, 2008 false arrest for prostitution outside the Blue Door, an East Village adult video store, located in State Senator Hoylman’s district. Senator Hoylman released the following statement:  

“The City’s settlement with Rob Pinter closes an unfortunate chapter in our city’s policing history. I congratulate Rob on reaching an agreement and thank him again for his steadfast courage in coming forward and pursuing this matter over the past six-and-a-half years. It takes a brave individual to publicly challenge police entrapment, particularly in the face of derogatory charges. Also, I thank Mayor de Blasio for signaling a new direction in NYPD - LGBT community relations by bringing this case to an end.”
