The ribbon-cutting ceremony for Orange County's new firefighter training facility, the "burn building," was held today, August 11. The building features three stories, includes 13 burn rooms and can simulate a variety of fires, including attic and basement fires. Located at the Fire Training Center in New Hampton, it has a 30 year life span, and it's estimated that two-thousand firefighters will learn from it. The Senator joined with other Orange County officials, including Senator Bill Larkin; Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus; Assemblyman James Skoufis; and former Orange County Eddie Diana to officially open the facility.
