State Senator Tony Avella attended the 85th Anniversary of Famee Furlane of N.A. Club, the first fogolar furlane, or cultural club, and meeting place for descendents of Friulan immigrants.
Headquartered on 127th Street in College Point, the club was first founded on the East Side of Manhattan in 1929. After 1953, the Club was relocated to Queens, where it was first located in Jackson Heights before a permanent clubhouse, or “fogolar,” was established in College Point in 1980.
Senator Avella was pleased to honor the organization with a Senate Proclamation commemorating the milestone.
