Honored to join colleagues, educators, parents, community-minded companies, and a great foundation in supporting the education garden at P.S. 316 Elijah G. Stroud School in Crown Heights today. In addition to students and parents, those recognizing today's launch of the new Learning Garden were Assemblyman Walter T. Mosley, Larry White from Dole Packaged Foods, Michele Gissi from Key Food Stores, and Leesa Carter from the Captain Planet Foundation. I would like to add my thanks to the those expressed by P.S. 316 to “Mrs. Maluf and all the teachers and staff, Mrs. Trivedi for grant writing, students for [their] input and efforts Mrs. Caban for art displays, Mrs. Kowalchick, and Mr Mizen for organizing the event.” P.S. 316 Elijah G. Stroud represents the kind of community-oriented spirit that makes for strong learning communities.
The partnership between Key Food, Dole Packaged Foods, and the Captain Planet Foundation is accepting further applications for Learning Garden Grants from New York City schools here.
