
Senator Jesse Hamilton Hosts Movies Under the Stars, My Parks and Me in Sunset Park

(Brooklyn, NY – July 18, 2015) More than 500 Sunset Park residents turned out for Movies Under the Stars & My Parks and Me in Sunset Park yesterday. The event was hosted by Senator Jesse Hamilton, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, Assistant Speaker Felix Ortiz, NYC Council Member Carlos Menchaca, and 51st Assembly District Leader Arelis Martinez, as well as community group co-sponsors the West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) and Haitian Centers Council, and supporting partners, Criterion Pictures, Academy of Medical and Public Health Services, the Mayor’s Office - Immigrant Affairs, Urban Park Rangers, NYC Parks & Recreation, NYPD, and DJ English. The movie on July 17th was X-Men: Days of Future Past. Prior to the film, the event featured a Capoeira fitness session by instructor Aleshandre, Caribbean Carnival headpiece-making craft for children, and a dance party with DJ English.
