Last Friday, a representative from my office attended the Town of Wallkill’s dedication of the Silver Lake-Scotchtown tunnel, which was renamed the Disabled American Veterans Tunnel. New signs are displayed at the entrances to the tunnel, which runs under railroad tracks on Silver Lake Scotchtown Road at the intersection of Mud Mills Road.
The tunnel recently received a new paint job, and the suggestion to rename it was made by Michael Cody, a Town of Wallkill employee who was recently honored as my 2015 NY Senate Veterans Hall of Fame Inductee.
