Both Senator Ortt and his colleague Assemblywoman Jane Corwin spoke about revising the Medicaid and Safety Net Assistance programs during a Niagara County Legislature meeting. Local leaders are calling on the governor and State Legislature to provide relief to taxpayers by enacting legislation to “opt out” of the costly non-federally-mandated Medicaid services and to revert to pre-2011 50%-50% cost-sharing arrangement between state government and taxpayers.
