Sen Squadron Hosts Hundreds at Town Halls

Squadron Brings Together Nearly 350 For Participatory Government in Brooklyn And Manhattan

NEW YORK – State Senator Daniel Squadron hosted Brooklyn and Manhattan Town Halls to discuss local and national issues. Squadron’s Town Halls brought together nearly 350 community members on November 10th at Brooklyn Law School, and November 15th, at DCTV. At the town halls, Squadron released his annual community update report, available here.

The town halls serve as follow-up events to Squadron’s annual Community Convention, held this past April. Squadron reiterated the importance of local engagement as a vital way of participating in government, and setting the groundwork for national engagement.

“Keeping America great begins with local community and civic engagement,” said State Senator Daniel Squadron. “Whether a concern about local sanitation issues, potholes, or other quality of life concerns, or broader concerns about the state of healthcare reform and protection of civil liberties, getting involved, and staying involved, begins in the community. Thank you to the nearly community members who joined my office at the town halls, community convention, or even took the time to write an email or place a call.”
