Statement from State Senator Gustavo Rivera on the U.S. Supreme Court Immigration Ruling

“Today’s decision by the U.S Supreme Court on President Obama’s deferred action immigration plan is profoundly upsetting and disappointing. Not only does this decision cause the approximately 5 million immigrants who are eligible for the expansion of DACA and DAPA to remain in obscurity and in fear of deportation, but it also fails to uphold the values of inclusivity our country has championed for generations,” said State Senator Gustavo Rivera. “This setback should serve as a call to action to hold accountable those members of Congress who continue to oppose comprehensive immigration reform. We are a country of immigrants and we will continue fighting to ensure that we don't lose the principles that have made our country so unique.”
