Senator Bonacic Announces $50,000 for the Village of Liberty to help with the Purchase of a New Plow Truck

(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has secured a $50,000 grant to help the Village of Liberty purchase a new plow truck for its Department of Public Works. The grant was secured through the State Municipal Grant Program, which was included in the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 State Budget. The truck that the Village uses for plowing during the winter months is 28 years old. At this point it will not meet D.O.T. requirements and not pass inspection.
“These funds will help the Village of Liberty’s Department of Public Works better serve the residents,” said Senator Bonacic. “These funds will not only provide a safe working environment for the employees of the DPW, but will save the Village taxpayers’ money.”
"I would like to personally thank Senator Bonacic for obtaining this grant for the Village of Liberty,” said Village of Liberty Mayor Ronald Stabak. “During these extremely difficult times, this Municipal Grant will help give fiscal relief to our community. It could not have come at a better time.”
