(Middletown, NY)-State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that he has secured a $75,000 grant, made available through the State Municipal Grant Program, for the Village of Greenwood Lake to construct sidewalks and retaining walls along Waterstone Road. Currently, the bridge sidewalk ends and pedestrians walk on the road on a blind curve, creating a serious safety issue and dangerous conditions.
“This project is important for the Village of Greenwood Lake,” said Senator Bonacic. “Not only will it save the taxpayers’ money, it will improve the safety of pedestrians walking along Waterstone Rd.”
“Senator Bonacic has continued to show his commitment to supporting local municipalities in our effort to make our communities safer, stronger and more financially efficient. The shovel ready sidewalk project in the Village of Greenwood Lake will make one of the largest safety improvements in well over 30 years for our Village,” said Village of Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer.
