Senator Bonacic Announces $75,000 to help Construct New Building for the Town of Hamptonburgh Highway Department
February 12, 2016
(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has secured a $75,000 grant, through the State Municipal Grant Program, for the Town of Hamptonburgh to help with the cost of replacing the Town Highway Department’s salt barn building. The current salt barn building is old and too small for current demands.
“The need for municipalities to adequately handle inclement weather is clearly evident after last year’s brutal winter,” said Senator Bonacic. “This money will go a long way towards ensuring that the Town of Hamptonburgh’s Highway Department can continue to serve the residents.”
“The $75,000 for the new salt barn will allow us to regulate the application of road salt more efficiently and further insure that we will have a constant supply for the season. This results in savings for our tax payers,” said Town of Hamptonburgh Supervisor Robert Jankowski.
