(Albany, NY)-State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement on the confirmation of Janet DiFiore as the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals.

“I would like to congratulate Janet DiFiore on her confirmation as Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals. Mrs. DiFiore has substantial legal and judicial experience that will serve her well during her time on the Court. It is my hope that she will remain independent, be a fair arbiter of the law, and uphold equal justice for all New Yorkers.”

Prior to her confirmation as Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals, Mrs. DiFiore served as the District Attorney of Westchester County.
