Fighting for School-Based Health Clinics
Senator Velmanette Montgomery
April 11, 2016
Senator Montgomery urges her colleagues to consider School Based Health Clinics (SBHC) as a legislative priority. SBHCs provide professional and comprehensive health, mental health and social support services and education to meet every aspect of a young person's medical needs. Senator Montgomery is a long-time proponent of SBHCs and has fought to bring SBHCs into more schools in her district. Boys and Girls High School and Benjamin Banneker Academy are among the schools in the 25th Senate District with school-based health clinics.
