Senator Velmanette Montgomery honors Thomas F. Schutte, Ph.D. upon the occasion of his retirement after more than 20 years of distinguished service as the 11th President at Pratt Institute. For more than two decades, Dr. Schutte has guided the transformation of Pratt Institute into a world premier higher education institution focusing on art, design and architecture. Dr. Schutte is a visionary leader who has grown Pratt Institute’s academic initiatives, campus buildings and increased student enrollment during his tenure. He is a beloved neighbor who also generously donates his time and expertise as Chairperson of the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership’s Board of Directors.
