MANHATTAN – This morning, State Senator Daniel Squadron joined the Downtown Little League (DLL) to kick off opening day and celebrate DLL’s 25th anniversary. Squadron presented his Senate Resolution (J.1257) honoring DLL’s anniversary, which unanimously passed the Senate. On the Senate floor (video available here), Squadron talked about the annual opening day ceremony that took place today, as well as DLL’s championship wins and its vital importance to Downtown Manhattan.
“In its 25 years, Downtown Little League has become one of our state’s great little leagues, with an opening ceremony that’s eagerly anticipated,” said State Senator Daniel Squadron. “As the neighborhood has weathered the September 11th attacks and Hurricane Sandy, Downtown Little League has grown, thrived, and become central to the Downtown community.”
