Today, Governor Cuomo signed new legislation allowing union dues to be deducted from New York State Taxes. This will save over 500,000 union members approximately $35 Million. As labor unions have become increasingly under attack, I am thrilled to be apart of this historic and momentous occasion only days after we introduced legislation increasing protection for worker's rights. I am especially proud, having been a member of DC37 for 28 years, to stand alongside my colleagues in support of ensuring unions continue to play a vital role in building safe workplaces and thriving communities.
