September 4, 2018

(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that the Village of Ellenville has been awarded a $50,000 grant to be used for the installation of eight new fire hydrants. The grant was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2018-2019 State Budget.
“I’m pleased to work with Mayor Kaplan and the Village of Ellenville to secure this grant that prioritizes public safety,” said Senator Bonacic. “Additionally, this grant will help save the Village taxpayers money.”
Village of Ellenville Mayor Jeff Kaplan said, “The installation of these new fire hydrants will help ensure that our local volunteer fire fighters can continue to effectively serve the residents of the Village of Ellenville and better protect them in the event of an emergency. Senator Bonacic has always been a strong supporter of the Village of Ellenville, and I thank him for his continued advocacy on our behalf.”
