September 4, 2018
(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that the Town of Thompson has been awarded a $75,000 grant for the installation of new bathrooms at the town park. The grant was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2018-2019 State Budget.
“The installation of these new bathrooms will help ensure that residents and visitors in the Town of Thompson can utilize the town park for years to come,” said Senator Bonacic. “In addition, this grant will save the local taxpayers money.”
Town of Thompson Supervisor William Rieber said, “The Town of Thompson is thankful for Senator Bonacic’s continued support of our initiative to invest in public spaces. Municipal parks improve the quality of life and the overall general health of a community and they bring families, visitors and neighbors together. Clean and modern rest rooms are necessary and well appreciated by the public.”
