(Albany, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) joined his colleagues from the Senate and Assembly today at press conference in Albany to push for passage of the School Bus Camera Safety Act (S.518B) before the end of the session. The bill, which Senator Bonacic co-sponsors, authorizes the installation and use of photo monitoring devices school buses to detect and record vehicles illegally passing or overtaking a school bus. Motorists caught illegally passing a school bus by the cameras are subject to a $250 fine.
