Founded in 1818, Town of Amherst celebrates Bicentennial this year
Amherst, NY - Senator Mike Ranzenhofer joined current and former Amherst officials for a Birthday Party to officially kick-off the Town of Amherst's Bicentennial. The kick-off celebration included a Bicentennial flag raising ceremony and gigantic cake to celebrate the Town's 200th birthday.
A gigantic parade, historic walking tours, a slogan contest, Interclub Service Luncheon and a Bicentennial Ball are among the many events planned throughout the year.
