Merry Christmas, Please Stay Safe

Dear Friend,

Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating today! This beautiful holiday marks the birth of Christ and is observed by billions around the world.  While this year's festivities may be different, may the spirit of Christmas unite us in peace, joy, gratitude, and generosity.

This year more than ever, we should count our blessings, and I am thankful to serve New Yorkers. Christmas imparts important lessons of welcoming the stranger and providing help and support to those in need.

I am so encouraged this year by the number of residents who called my office, looking to give back Christmas, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is truly what the holidays are really about.

This year, 200 residents volunteered to be "Angels" and participate in the "Angel Project," a program organized by my office to ensure grandparents caring for grandchildren receive a gift for the holidays.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our "Angels" for their selfless generosity. If you have a moment, you can hear more about the program by clicking here.  It is my hope that this story puts you in the Christmas spirit.

Remember, Christmas gives us an opportunity to show those we love how meaningful they are to our lives, even if giving presents, giving thanks, or extending holiday blessings is done virtually.

May you and your family have a safe, blessed and very Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy New Year!

Sincerely,
