Thanksgiving Message from Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins

Andrea Stewart-Cousins

November 26, 2020

Dear Friends,

Thanksgiving is a time to remember all which we are thankful for and express our gratitude for these blessings, which we are fortunate enough to enjoy.

I have much to be thankful for, including our essential workers, health care professionals, and the resilience and unity of our community. In the worst of times, we have come together to help save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19. The selflessness of the current essential workforce has allowed the remainder of our state to stay home, stop the spread of COVID-19, and save lives. Further, our nonprofits, religious institutions, and groups of all kinds have stepped up in extraordinary ways to support families and residents in need due to this pandemic or otherwise.

I’m also thankful for my family, friends, staff and for the honor of serving each of you as your Senator for another term.

As you sit down for dinner this Thanksgiving with immediate loved ones, I hope you’ll also take time to remember those who are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic and those who are facing hardship. Let's commit to do what we can to help ease their burdens and work towards better opportunity and equality for all our neighbors.

Please stay safe, and have a Happy Thanksgiving,

Andrea Stewart-Cousins
New York State Senator, District 35
President Pro Tem, Majority Leader
