Senator Julia Salazar Commences the First Women's Issues Committee Meeting of the 2020 Legislative Session

Senator Julia Salazar, Chair of the New York State Senate Women's Issues Committee

The Chair of the Women's Issues Committee, Senator Julia Salazar, delegated four pieces of legislation that was before the committee.

On the agenda, the four bills were voted on as followed:

Senator Holyman – S2264

S2264 is an act to amend the public heath law, in relation to requiring disclosure by crisis pregnancy centers.  

Senator Rivera – S4947 (Refer to Finance)

S4947 is an act to amend the public health law, in relation to healthcare and wellness education and outreach programs on the donation of postnatal tissue and fluids.

Senator Benjamin – 6707

S6707 is an act to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring the department of health of the state of New York to conduct a study of the effects of racial and ethnic disparities on breastfeeding rates and prepare and submit a report to the governor and the legislature.

Senator Persaud – 7544

S7444 is an act to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring the department of health to develop an informational pamphlet for patients undergoing pelvic examinations and to make the informational pamphlet available for use by medical practitioners performing pelvic examinations and to require medical practitioners performing pelvic exams to disseminate such pamphlets.
