Dear Neighbor,

Today we celebrate the life and extraordinary achievements of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one of our nation's most beloved and influential civil rights leaders.

What Dr. King fought for and died fighting for is a more just and equal society, free of racism and hate. Today, we know the fight continues, and it’s a time to recommit ourselves to marching on for Dr. King’s dream.

On this and every day, I believe that if we remember and practice Dr. King's message and courage, we will continue to reach the beloved community he talked about.

As part of my efforts to honor Dr. King’s dream, I asked school children in my district to share what their dream is for the future. Please make sure to tune in to the video’s release on Facebook at 7:00 p.m. today by clicking here. May their words inspire us all to always strive to do better and be better.

Until next time,
