Sands Center for Allied Health groundbreaking

We need nurses more than ever. I was proud to be part of the groundbreaking of the Sands Center for Allied Health at Finger Lakes Community College. This innovative new Center will help meet the critical demand for nurses in our region and local health care systems. FLCC will be able to double enrollment in its RN program and launch its LPN program. I believe the Sands Center for Allied Health will be a model for nursing education and training in New York State.

Thank you to Finger Lakes Community College and President Robert Nye; Heather Reece-Tillack, Chair of the FLCC Nursing Program; SUNY and Chancellor Jim Malatras; Thompson Health and President and CEO Mike Stapleton; Ontario County, including Board of Supervisors Chair Jack Marren and County Administrator Chris DeBolt. And most especially, Richard Sands and the Sands Family Foundation, which donated $3 million to the project – the largest single gift in FLCC’s history.

The Sands Center for Allied Health will open in stages through the 2021-22 academic year.
