As one of the first African American clubs, you are a core part of history, as well as a core part of our future. Your long legacy of service and mutual aid has given new generations not only a better world to grow up in, but also a shining example to follow in the active practice of love. 

A special congratulations also to Lion Lottie D. Shannon on receiving the Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award, and for all her service as Second Vice President for this extraordinary organization.
