Statement From Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt
September 16, 2022

Sadly, another day, another report on Albany’s pervasive pay-to-play culture. Governor Hochul’s massively bloated, taxpayer-funded deal with state contractors who just happen to be some of her biggest campaign donors simply does not pass the smell test.
Today I am echoing the calls of my colleague Senator Sue Serino for the state Attorney General and Albany District Attorney to investigate these allegations. It is the responsibility of the Administration to provide answers and not ignore the concerns of the taxpayers of New York.
When the Governor took the reins from her disgraced predecessor, she promised a “new era” of “transparency” and “accountability.” Instead, what she delivered is more of the same headlines of corruption that have shattered New Yorkers’ trust in their government.
