(ALBANY, NY) - In the middle of the floor in the NYS Senate Chambers, State Senator Mark Walczyk joined his fellow members of the legislature to take his official oath of office on opening day of the 2023 session. Joining the Senator in Albany to capture the moment was wife Jessica, his joyful son Atticus, and members of his official staff. Today will serve as the first step in the Senate Chambers in what will be a 2023 legislative session full of promising results for the 49th Senate District.

Senator Walczyk is also very pleased to announce the locations for his district offices and the staff that will join him in the fight to advocate for the constituents of the 49th Senate District.  For district offices, the Senator will retain a location in the Dulles State Office Building located at 317 Washington Street in Watertown. His office number will now be #418 which was the office location of the former Senator, Patty Ritchie. Another office available to the constituents of the 49th district will be located in Fulton County at 223 West Main Street in Johnstown. These offices will be open in addition to the Senator’s location in the Legislative Office Building. At this time, the Senator has been assigned a temporary office in the former Senator’s location, room #302.

Additionally, Senator Walczyk is elated to have his team set in place and ready to serve the amazing people of the 49th Senate District. Joining him in his fight in Albany will be Mike Schenk who will retain his post as Walczyk’s Chief of Staff. Also making the jump from Assembly to the Senate with Walczyk will be his Scheduler and Senior Adviser Meredith George, Community Affairs Representative Olivia Patterson, and Community Affairs Liaison Ben Vandamme. New additions to the Senator’s staff are Communications Director Tyler Clemons, Director of Constituent Services Charles Potter who will be based out of the Johnstown office, and Legislative Director James Corl who will be holding the fort down in Albany. Finally, Senator Walczyk is happy to have retained Bonnie Fikes as Office Manager. Bonnie was a staple in former Senator Ritchie’s office and will be the first smile you come across when visiting the Watertown District Office.

“Together, with this team and the locations of the offices across the district, we have the potential to move mountains for the 49th Senate District,” said Walczyk. “This team is hungry and ready to work tirelessly to deliver the results and advocacy that this region deserves. Any local business, organization, constituent and beyond is more than welcome to contact my office at any time and we will happily help in any way we can with any issue or concern you’re facing.”
