
Manlius woman honored for knitting hats for the homeless

MANLIUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A local senior was recognized on Sunday, Feb. 11, for her efforts in serving the Syracuse community.
Maureen Berger, a resident at Brookdale Manlius in her 80s, was honored by State Senator John Mannion for assisting the homeless.
Rekindling creativity: Manlius woman finds purpose in knitting, creating 100 hats for the homeless
Berger set a goal in December to knit 100 hats for the homeless and had some help from fellow residents.
“I feel that those of us who can ought to do,” Berger said.
Berger is a former seamstress. She plans to continue knitting hats and making blankets.
