For decades, the South Bronx and East Harlem have endured health disparities and preventable illnesses due to pollution and other environmental causes.
Recently, I was proud to join colleagues, advocates, and community organizations in the South Bronx for an announcement of $3.5 million from Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for environmental justice initiatives.
This funding will ensure that the grassroots organization who have been fighting for environmental justice will have the resources to continue their important work.
