On May 21st, Senator Serrano joined Assemblymember Karen McMahon at the prestigious New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA) Legislative Student Art Exhibit held in Albany. This exhibit presented an example of how arts education can foster both personal growth and academic success among students in New York State. This theme was highlighted prominently throughout the art exhibit. This inspiring event featured an array of exceptional artwork submitted by talented students from various schools across New York State. In a meaningful celebration of the student’s achievements, Senator Serrano presented a formal proclamation recognizing the significance of the 35th annual Legislative Student Art Exhibit. This honored not only the students but also the invaluable contributions of art teachers who play a crucial role in cultivating the next generation of artists.
