Dear neighbor, 

Last month, I joined the New York City DSA Healthcare Working Group to host a NY Health Act 101 Session at Lehman College. I want to thank everybody who joined us in person and virtually! 

Having these conversations is so important so that more New Yorkers get familiar with the NY Health Act and the impacts it would have on healthcare affordability. Even folks who are already satisfied with their current healthcare coverage would still benefit from more comprehensive and affordable healthcare in a single-payer system. 

The reality is that most people don't know how broken our healthcare system is until they get sick or need unexpected medical care. I look forward to hosting more of these sessions as we get ready for the new legislative session!

Saturday, October 17th: Meet me at the NYHA Day of Action in my district! The event will take place from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Seton Park located at Independence Ave, Bronx, NY 10463.

In addition, the Campaign for New York Health is hosting rallies in Manhattan, Nassau County and Rochester. Coalition partners are also organizing actions around the state. Find an event close to you here.

Thursday, October 15th at 6:45pm: 'NYHA New York Health Act Educational Talk' with the League of Women Voters. You can join at the start of the meeting using this link.

Monday, October 19th at 7:00pm: NYHA 101. This is an online event perfect for those wanting to brush up on NYHA basics or introduce new friends to the NYHA. RSVP here.

Saturday, October 24th at 2:00pm: NYHA Town Hall. This is an in person event organized by the Mid-Hudson Valley DSA in Newburgh and will stream virtually. RSVP here.
